El Salvador opened up in the middle of September, so Elizabeth and I went on a little getaway on the 27th and went to the Decameron Resort for a couple of days. It was very nice to get out after being in lockdown for six months.
We enjoyed getting out seeing people, swimming, and enjoying the sun and beach. They had plenty of safety measures in place but mostly left it up to people to make their own decisions. Once we checked in, it was up to us to wear a mask or not; some people did, but we were at the beach, and I felt no need to wear a mask.
The food at the restaurants was outstanding. We had salmon the first night and steak the second night. We had our breakfast and lunch in the main dining area, the evening meals we ate at one of the five restaurants.
I enjoyed swimming in the main pool, but Elizabeth enjoyed the ocean more.
We arrived there on Sunday afternoon and checked out on Tuesday afternoon. Elizabeth and I enjoyed this stay very much, and it was a much-needed getaway.
