My son Matt graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors’s degree in Business this year, so before going into the workforce, he took some time to come and visit us here in El Salvador. Matt spent a month with us, and we enjoyed our time together very much.
We spent much time catching up as Matt had not visited for two years. We enjoyed grilling out, going to the beach, and visiting sites here in El Salvador.
We spent a week at the Decameron Resort, where we had a great time. The beach and the pools were good, the food was good for the most part, and the service was good.
We also went to San Salvador, Ahuachapan, and Sonsonate, where we went shopping and had some enjoyable meals in some of the many restaurants.
We also visited Ahuachapan and the Santa Teresa hot springs, the largest in Central America; after spending the day at the springs, we had dinner at the new Pizza Hut in the town (Matt’s treat).
We spent most of our evenings sitting on the front or back porch just talking about the times Matt was growing up, looking at old pictures and what he wanted and hoped for in his future. All too soon, his four weeks were up, and he had to return to the states.
The day before Matt left, we went to San Salvador and booked a room at a very nice hotel; we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant and then went back to the hotel where we sat by the pool most of the night talking and enjoying a few beers. I was sad to see him leave, but I know he has to prepare for his future. I hope he can return soon and spend time with us.
I have attached some pictures of Matt’s visit. We hope that you enjoy this post. Please let us know what you think.
