What a year 2020 has started to be!! We have been on quarantine since March, and the rules have tightened since then. Here is the latest from the U.S. Embassy. :
The Government of El Salvador reports 998 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 18 deaths, and 349 recovered patients.
On May 7, the Government of El Salvador implemented additional movement restrictions based on the last digit of an individual’s Salvadoran identification document (DUI). For other nationalities, it will be based on the last number in an individual’s passport or residency card (carné de residencia). Only one individual per household will be permitted to leave home, hotel, or residence to purchase necessities or to access banking services. The movement will be restricted to the days designated by the Government of El Salvador.
Everything is shut down in the country, The Airport, buses, and all transportation except by the Government. Weekly flights are leaving for American citizens or residents who want to return to the states.
The lockdown is supposed to end on April 21, but no one knows for sure.
This has not been too bad for us; we have quite a bit of land, so I can get out and walk and do my exercise. I spend a lot of time working on my computer. I miss my trips to San Salvador.
We are making plans for our garden. We are just waiting for more rain to soften the ground up. I will be posting more on this soon. We are also going to raise some chickens; we hope to get six chickens to start with. Hopefully, we can become more self-sufficient for times like we are going through now.
I will be glad when things open up again. I really want to go to the beach with family and friends.
Please stay safe and take care. I will post again soon.
