Decameron Beach Resort

 By: Hugh C. Talley

Elizabeth and I was able to visit the Decameron Beach Resort during my recovery. The resort grounds are beautiful, clean and will kept. The pools are very nice. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable with a nice view. They have the main restaurant, the ChackBalam Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, buffet style. The food is mostly the local Salvadoran cuisine. The food here is fair but not great, if you are not there early in the meal, it gets pretty picked over. They also have five specialty restaurants but you have to be in the lobby by 6am to sign up for the dinner meal and they book up very fast. We did not get to dine at any of these because we did not understand that we had to sign up by 6am to do this. There are four bars on the beach and one disco bar. The bars on the beach serve drinks, beer and mixed drinks from about 11am to 2am. The beer is Pilsener, which is one of the local brands, I like it, but a lot of people do not. The drinks are made with off brand lacquer, but again they are not bad for the most part..I would advise you to bring your own insulated cup because they serve you in very small plastic cups. I should mention that Decameron is all inclusive so all food and drinks are included in the price.

We enjoyed our stay there, but the draw backs were the check in, which took over an hour, the food was fair but could have been a lot better, and they did not inform us that we had to sign up by 6am for the five specialty restaurants. The pluses were the rooms were clean and comfortable, the grounds are will kept and beautiful, the pools are really big ad very nice. The service was really good, and it is all inclusive. We plan to go back for another visit to give it a fair chance, but at this point, we have visited other places here that we like much better.

The location is Acajutla, Sonsonate – El Salvador, this is about an hours drive our home in Cara Sucia..

We have added some pictures that we took at the resort, I was still recovering from my surgery so I did not get all the pictures I would have liked to.

We hope you enjoy this post, it is my first since my surgery. I hope to be writing more very soon.

We always enjoy your comments and suggestions, so please let us hear from you. We also want to think all of our readers and followers for your support.
